Timaru Boys’ High School remain winless in the UC Championship after five games following an indifferent performance against St Thomas’ College. Timaru Boys’ went down 22-7 in Christchurch as they failed to make tackles at crucial times. Christ’s College beat Christchurch Boys’ High School 28-27 in a thriller to hold on to second place, a point behind St Andrews. For Timaru Boys’ hooker Ben Bartlett and prop Bede Fisher stood out, while George Mulder and No 8 David Edh never gave it away. The loss leaves Timaru Boy’s languishing in 11th , unlikely to finish inside the top eight.
