Downlands Contracting Ltd fined $700 for exceeding the maximum gross mass limit and exceeding the mass limit on two or more axles. A Timaru transport company has been fined $700 for overloading a truck-and trailer by 100 kilograms. The company was fined $350 for exceeding the maximum gross mass limit of 54000kg and a further $350 for exceeding the mass limit on two or more axles when it appeared before Judge Joanna Maze in the Timaru District Court on Monday. The combination was driven to the Timaru PrimePort weighbridge, where it was found to exceed the 54,000kg limit on its permit. The judge did not order the company to pay court costs.
