It’s been three years since the #MeToo movement ignited a global reckoning with sexual harassment and discrimination against women, while toppling entertainment moguls, CEOs and other leaders. Whether working from home or in the workplace, women are shouldering more of the burden for child care as many schools and day-care facilities remain closed, Ms. Tchen says, and the strain is forcing many to drop out of the workforce. “We’ve had a pandemic, a health-care crisis, an economic crisis, a racial-justice crisis,” Ms. Tchen says. “We now have a caregiving crisis.”Ms. Tchen recently spoke with The Wall Street Journal by phone from Chicago.
