VANCOUVER—Last Sunday, an Ontario-based polling firm released a Vancouver election poll that included a mysterious mayoral candidate as one of the choices. Maya Richards was included along with Kennedy Stewart, Ken Sim, Shauna Sylvester, Hector Bremner, Ian Campbell, Wai Young, David Chen. The 19-month-old's mom joked on Facebook that the gregarious toddler was running for mayor of Vancouver and somehow, Maya's name ended up in a real political poll. An earlier version of the story stated that Fred Harding was one of the mayoral candidates included in the Mainstreet poll. Harding, who is running as mayor with Vancouver First, was not included in the Mainstreet poll.
