AMEA Power, a renewable energy company in the Middle East, recently announced the expansion of the Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Solar Power Plant in Togo, from 50MW to 70MW. This will make it the largest solar PV plant in West Africa. Both project phases became fully operational in June 2021, with AMEA Technical Services currently responsible for the operations and maintenance of the solar plant. AMEA Power has also established an internship programme for engineering students from various technical institutions across Togo to gain practical experience at the solar plant. 6MW solar plant becomes fully operational in time for COP27
