Their time was almost three seconds faster than the record set by Britain when they won gold in Rio five years ago. Germany on their way to a world record in the women’s team pursuit. There was also a catastrophic equipment failure in the men’s team pursuit on the cycle track, with Alex Porter ending up on the deck.
