(CNN) Tom Barrack, a longtime ally of former President Donald Trump and chairman of the Trump 2016 Inaugural Committee, pleaded not guilty through his attorney on Monday to illegal foreign lobbying charges unveiled by the Justice Department last week. He was arrested last Tuesday in Los Angeles, and was released on bail on Friday , having put up a massive, $250 million bail package. Barrack, who has known Trump for decades , is accused of seeking to influence Trump administration policy on behalf of the UAE.
