KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 21): Activity at Bursa Malaysia was relatively toned down in the morning session today ahead of the tabling of Budget 2017 at 4pm today. The gainers included British American Tobacco (M) Bhd, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd, MBM Resources Bhd, Bursa Malaysia Bhd, Batu Kawan Bhd, CIMB Group Holdings Bhd, Malayan Banking Bhd, Gadang Holdings Bhd and Alllianz Malaysia Bhd. The actives included Dagang Nexchange Bhd, Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd, Borneo Oil Bhd, CIMB, Melewar Industrial Group Bhd, Nexgram Holdings Bhd and Trive Property Group Bhd. The losers included Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd, Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Bhd, Pharmaniaga Bhd, Tenaga Nasional Bhd, KESM Industries Bhd, Lafarge Malaysia Bhd and Bison Consolidated Bhd. Kenanga IB Research said the FBM KLCI took a U-turn during the final hour yesterday to erase its earlier gains as market sentiment was observed to be wary ahead of the Budget 2017 announcement today.
