Martinez excelled towards the end of last season when deputising for the injured Leno and helped fire Mikel Arteta’s side to FA Cup glory. However, Leno has continued to play in both the Premier League and Europa League under Arteta, and former Arsenal captain Adams feels the number of games the 29-year-old has played has had an adverse effect on him. ‘We’ve only got Leno, we’re going to play him every single match now until the end of the season and he’s already for me a little bit burnt out. ‘He could’ve really done with a rest and just played the Europa League stage.
