The gathering, which was due to be held in Birmingham, has been axed in favour of a "virtual event". The annual event had been due to take place in Birmingham in October but Tory co-chairman Amanda Milling said "most of" the event would now be moved online. Labour and the Liberal Democrats cancelled their annual gatherings earlier in the pandemic. In a letter to members she said: "Party conference is a highlight of the political calendar and we know many people will be disappointed if they can't attend conference in person.
