Around 1:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon, a tornado touched down north of Williams in the Junipine Estates neighborhood. Confirmed by the National Weather Service and Coconino County Sheriff’s Office, the tornado damaged between 8-10 homes. Sheriff’s Office Patrol, Detectives and Search and Rescue crews were all on scene north of Williams to provide support to the community. Should the need arise, Coconino County was prepared to open an animal shelter as well. If in need, affected parties should call the Animal Management department of Coconino County Health and Human Services at (928)-679-8756.
