As tropical depression Gordon makes its way through the city, Environment Canada said Toronto could be facing up to 40 mm of rain by Tuesday morning. Environment Canada issued a special weather alert on Sunday, noting that the rain will begin falling tonight and last until Monday, potentially reaching 20-40 mm by the time the rain tapers to scattered showers early Tuesday. Rain is expected to begin falling Sunday night, Environment Canada says. By nightfall Sunday, 10-15mm of rain are expected to fall on Toronto streets, rising to 15-25mm by Monday morning. Environment Canada said it may issue further warnings, as there is uncertainty in the storm’s timing and track.
