Joe Lewis, the British billionaire and owner of Tottenham Hotspur, was criminally charged on Tuesday in New York for orchestrating a "brazen" insider trading scheme. "Mr. Lewis has come to the U.S. voluntarily to answer these ill-conceived charges, and we will defend him vigorously in court." A Tottenham spokesperson said: "This is a legal matter unconnected with the club and as such we have no comment." Insider trading has long been a focus of Williams' office, dating to 2009 when a crackdown began under one of his predecessors, Preet Bharara.
