After temporarily halting production to comply with the quarantine guidelines set by the government, leading automotive manufacturer Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has resumed operations in its Santa Rosa, Laguna plant beginning May 18. In a release sent to The Manila Times, TMP said it understands that restarting business as soon as possible would stimulate economic activities in the country. Prior to resumption of plant operations, precautionary measures were conducted in the plant to ensure safety and adherence to production protocols, safety guidelines and measures that will be strictly followed in the plant. As of May 20, 66 out of the 70 Toyota dealer outlets nationwide have resumed operations with safety and sanitation guidelines also in place. Due to social distancing measures implemented within the showroom, customers are encouraged to set an appointment before visiting their nearest dealers.
