But despite competition from Google, Facebook and Booking.com/Priceline, CEO Okerstrom believes Expedia Group still has plenty of room to grow, as it represents only a small part of the $1.6 trillion dollar travel industry. That power to access data in real-time also helps business travelers in another fast-growing Expedia business, Egencia, a digital travel management company that provides managed travel services to business organizations. The fourth-largest travel management company in the world, Egencia trails American Express Global Business Travel and Carlson Wagonlit, but is growing. “Google is a place to find things, while people know Expedia as an online travel agent,” says Okerstrom.
