Giving an update on its investigation, Finablr said that the software virus it had detected on December 31 was ransomware known as Sodinokibi, or Revil. It confirmed that while there had been some data encryption, there was no evidence that personal customer data had been encrypted or that any data had been exfiltrated. “Travelex is gradually restoring a number of internal systems and is working to resume normal operations as quickly as possible,” Finablr said.
