Earlier this month, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) agreed to release senior pacer Trent Boult from its player contract list, allowing him to spend more time with his family and feature in domestic leagues around the globe. The 33-year-old requested to be released and after a series of conversations, the cricket board accepted his request. Now, Boult hopes that he will be picked in the Test squad as well despite being relinquished from the central contract"I hope not," said Boult, as quoted by Stuff.co.nz, when asked whether he might have played his final Test. "But I'm fully aware that with the decision I made to give that contract back, it's going to affect that selection. I'm going to leave that with New Zealand Cricket and respect their decision," he added.
