Tribal leader survives Maguindanao gun attack


CAMP SIONGCO, MAGUINDANAO – A tribal leader in Ampatuan, Maguindanao was shot by a still unidentified gunman Tuesday night, police said. Madzgani Mukaram, Maguindanao police director, identified the victim as Oscar Andig, 62, a resident of Barangay Saniag, Ampatuan, Maguindanao. ADVERTISEMENTMukaram said Andig, a tribal leader of Teduray community, was about to take his horse around 8 p.m. when an armed man approached and shot him four times. As Andig fell to the ground, the gunman fled with the victim’s horse. Villagers rushed the victim to the Maguindanao provincial hospital in nearby Shariff Aguak town of Maguindanao.
