Mr Albanese challenged the Greens to vote against Labor’s shared equity scheme for housing, rebuffing the minor party’s demands to horse-trade in return for cutting housing tax concessions. He said the government would put its help-to-buy legislation to parliament, where “the Greens can vote for it, or they can vote against it”. Their system is designed to reduce errors and free up resources that have traditionally been tied down by cumbersome legacy systems and manual processes. The BI officials attended a study tour program arranged by the Australian Embassy in the Philippines and facilitated by the Australia Department of Home Affairs and the Australian Border Force. They also participated in roundtable discussions of advanced passenger information, immigration priorities, human trafficking, cyber threats, and counter-terrorism efforts.
