A hospital in Tripoli, has begun carrying out its first procedures to treat Parkinson’s disease within the public healthcare system, officials say. The programme, launched at “Al-Istiqlal” Hospital, is being supervised by the Health Services Support and Development Agency under the Government of National Unity. According to the Hakomitna platform, 12 specialised operations are scheduled over five days, involving medical teams trained in the field. The initiative is part of wider efforts to expand access to advanced treatments inside Libya, improve healthcare standards, and reduce the need for patients to travel abroad, according to the same source.
