The Trump administration said it was broadening travel restrictions from Europe to include the U.K. and Ireland, as countries across the globe raced to slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic and mitigate the economic damage. The expanded European travel restriction was made after a “unanimous recommendation” by health experts on the White House’s coronavirus task force, Vice President Mike Pence said Saturday, though U.S. residents would be able to return.
