(CNN) President Donald Trump again attacked late Sen. John McCain Saturday -- prompting the Arizona Republican's daughter Meghan McCain to respond that "no one will ever love" Trump the way they loved her father. "Spreading the fake and totally discredited Dossier 'is unfortunately a very dark stain against John McCain,'" Trump tweeted , quoting Ken Starr, the independent counsel who investigated then-President Bill Clinton. Starr called the dossier "a very dark stain" against McCain in an interview Saturday on Fox News, but also called McCain "a great man" and "an American hero." They alleged a widespread conspiracy of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin, which both sides deny. But the claims that form the bulk of the memos have held up over time , or at least proved to be partially true.
