An oil shipment isn’t a white flag for Cuba hawksA Russian oil tanker arrived in Cuba yesterday, carrying more than 700,000 barrels of oil. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum isn’t ruling out resuming oil shipments to the island country, which is buckling under a U.S.-imposed energy blockade. The arrival of new energy appears to be a drastic reversal of Trump’s earlier strategy toward the country: Starve the country of oil to topple the regime. “If a country wants to send some oil into Cuba right now, I have no problem with it,” Trump said on Sunday. Trump has threatened tariffs on countries that ship oil to Cuba.
