(Jabin Botsford/The Washington Post)President Trump on Tuesday ratcheted up his attacks on the media following the conclusion of a two-year investigation by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III that did not establish coordination between Trump and Russia on election interference. “The Mainstream Media is under fire and being scorned all over the World as being corrupt and FAKE,” Trump asserted in a morning tweet. A summary of Mueller’s report released Sunday by Attorney General William P. Barr also said that Mueller did not offer a conclusion on whether Trump sought to obstruct justice during the investigation. Since Sunday, Trump and his allies have stepped up attacks on both the media and lawmakers who raised the possibility that Trump and his campaign coordinated with Russia.
