Trump is calling the United States, Mexico and Canada Agreement a brand new deal but critics say it is just a tweaked NAFTA. The president has a political interest in pretending he has eradicated a North American Free Trade Agreement he has called the worst trade agreement in world history. The central purpose of most trade agreements is to eliminate tariffs between trading partners. Most trade agreements change rules to make trade freer.
