On the recent additional tariffs imposed by the Donald Trump administration on several European nations over the issue of Greenland, German finance minister Lars Klingbeil said on Sunday European partners must give a clear and united response to the United States. Germany will always extend a hand to the US to find common solutions but can not be blackmailed, Klingbeil said in a statement. “This is a point we can't go along with, we won't be blackmailed,” said Klingbeil. European Union foreign policy head Kaja Kallas remarked that China and Russia would gain from the fractures emerging between the U.S. and Europe. Tariffs risk making Europe and the United States poorer and undermine our shared prosperity."
