Trump's former national security adviser says President's refusal to commit to peaceful transfer of power is disappointing

(CNN) President Donald Trump's former national security adviser H.R. McMaster lamented Thursday the President's refusal to commit to providing a peaceful post-election transition of power on Thursday and dismissed the notion of potential military involvement. McMaster added to a chorus of high-level officials grappling with the comments while promising a smooth transfer of authority in an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer on "The Situation Room." "This is very disappointing, and really, this is something that our founders feared," McMaster told Blitzer. He added that "there's been a lot of work done, you know, within that administration, to do it after the lessons of the 2016 election."
