A report published by Ethiopian Reporter today, in Amharic, says National Bank of Ethiopia granted license to Tsehay Insurance, new insurance firm that is providing the service to Ethiopians. Kassa Lisanework, Chief Executive of Tsehay Insurance, is cited as saying that the insurance coverage is starting Wednesday, February 27, 2019. While North America is identified as a priority area for the new insurance service Ethiopians could buy the insurance coverage online from anywhere in the world, according to The Reporter’s report. The insurance company is partnering with“Accident and Health Medical Cover Insurance for the Families of Ethiopian Diaspora,” as is named by the insurance company, intended to cover medical expense for families living in Ethiopia and compensation in the event of accident.
