Tunisia detains suspected branch leader of Al-Qaeda in North Africa


(MENAFN)On Friday, a judicial official declared that Tunisia has detained a suspected branch leader of Al-Qaeda in North Africa, beside others suspected of managing “terrorist” attacks. Mohsen Dali declared that “Two dangerous wanted individuals, one of whom is an Al-Qaeda leader,” were detained in Tunis. Dali further declared that Authorities also detained three others charged of providing material and logistical support for organizing “terrorist” acts, without giving extra details of what type of operations were managed. The detained branch leader had already done “missions” abroad in an area where jihadist groups operate, without stating which country, declared the Interior Ministry.
