Patrick Mullins, rider of the winning horse, delivered the triumph for trainer and father, Willie Mullins. However, the BHA launched an enquiry into the race and have issued a ban to both Patrick Mullins and Harry Skelton for careless riding, reports the Mirror. Jockey Patrick Mullins praised the winning horse and explained how significant the win was to both himself and his father. "He [Apolon De Charnie] was fantastic,” Patrick Mullins told ITV Sport.
