PUTRAJAYA: Two Datuks have been remanded for three days to facilitate a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) probe into a land scam involving Great Alonioners Trading Corp (Gatco). The Gatco Estate issue began when settlers were unhappy with the sale of the plantation. A report was lodged by the Gatco Settlers Action Committee with MACC. It was reported that the 2,000ha Gatco estate was previously a sugarcane plantation owned by Syarikat Gula Negeri Sembilan. Following the closure of the company, the land was leased to the Negeri Sembilan State Development Corporation (PKNNS) for 99 years.
