Two arrested as Hong Kong and Australia join forces in HK$12.3m drug bust


Some 12 kg of suspected crystal meth was further seized by officers in the packages. Last Sunday afternoon (Jun 23), customs officers conducted an operation and arrested a 27-year-old jobless man in Tsim Sha Tsui. Officers also raided a commercial building unit in the district and seized 500 g of liquid meth and drug packaging equipment. Australian law enforcement officers also seized about 1 kg of crystal meth from the man’s home. Customs pointed out that the price of crystal meth in Australia is four to five times more expensive than that in Hong Kong and it is the second most popular drug in the country.
