The police said the residents’ association of Angaragundi had planned to hold Tipu Jayanti on Thursday. Harris, an office-bearer of the residents’ association, had reportedly shared details of the event on his Facebook account four days ago. In their comment, Kumar and Yatish referred to the Mangaluru North MLA as a “notorious” legislator and accused the latter of having links with terrorist organisations. On a complaint by Harris, the Panambur police arrested Kumar and Yatish for offence under the Information Technology Act on Friday.
