Two suspected members of Sarwar-Tamim’s New JMB faction held


The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained two members of a new faction of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (New JMB) from Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj district. The detainees are Qaiqum Hauladar, 32, and Selim, 32. RAB 11 Operation Officer Addition Superintendent of Police Shakil Ahmed confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune Wednesday morning. He said: “Acting on a tip-off, we conducted a drive in Ruposhi Bus Stand area and detained the two members of Sarwar-Tamim group around 10:30pm on Tuesday. “They are accused in an Anti-Terrorism Act case filed with Siddhirganj police station in April.”According to RAB, Sarwar Jahan alias Abdur Rahman alias Abu Ibrahim al-Hanif was the chief of New JMB while Gulshan attack mastermind Tamim was the second-in-command of the group.
