Two teenagers have been killed and three others injured following an early morning crash in Co Mayo. The single-vehicle incident occurred on a local road (L5140) at Laghtadawannagh near Ballina at around 4.15am on Sunday. Gardaí and emergency services responded and two men in their late teens were pronounced deceased at the scene. So far, 27 people have been killed on Irish roads this year. In 2025, 190 people were killed in crashes on Irish roads.
