U.S. Ambassador Lauds Liberia's Police Chief For Ably Handling 2017 Elections


Monrovia – The United States Ambassador accredited to Liberia, Christine Elder, has commended the Inspector General of the Liberia National Police, and the National Elections Security task force for the exceptional manner in which the Liberian security apparatus handled the just ended Presidential and Representatives elections, by the provision of adequate security despite numerous challenges. The American Ambassador called on the LNP Inspector General to take pride that Liberia now stands as a model of democracy enabling active participation of all Liberians in elections. Ambassador Elder in her communication also extended sincere congratulations to the LNP Chief on his nomination for the Golden Star Award for Distinguished Service in West Africa. Recently Inspector General of Police Gregory Coleman was nominated to receive the 2017 prestigious Golden Star award for distinguished security service in West Africa by the Security Watch Africa. The Award which is the 14th edition will be conferred on the Liberian Police Inspector General on February 6- 9 2018, in Kigali, Rwanda at an exhibition that is expected to take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel and Convention Centre.
