U.S. Crude Oil Inventories Fall for Second Straight Week


By Anthony HarrupU.S. crude oil inventories fell in a second consecutive week of draws, while gasoline and distillate fuel stocks rose, the U.S. Energy Information Administration said Wednesday. Analysts surveyed by The Wall Street Journal had predicted a draw on crude inventories of 1.2 million barrels. U.S. crude oil production was unchanged at 13.1 million barrels a day. Imports fell by almost 1 million barrels a day to 6.5 million barrels a day, and exports declined by 568,000 barrels a day to 3.8 million barrels a day, the EIA said. U.S. gasoline stockpiles rose by 409,000 barrels last week to 224 million barrels against expectations of a 1.9 million-barrel increase.
