The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 107 points, or 0.4%, to 24905 shortly after the opening bell, while the S&P 500 rose 0.4%. The Nasdaq Composite moved 0.4% higher as well. The Dow is down 1% over the past four trading days, while the S&P 500 is down 0.6%. Thursday’s gains were broad, with all 11 major sectors of the S&P 500 up in early trading. Chesapeake shares rose 14%.
