On Saturday night, when Miocic and Ngannou collided in the main event of UFC 220, no one at TD Garden was expecting to see a second round. It was the 35-year-old’s third successful title defense, which is more than any previous UFC heavyweight champ can boast. It was not the finish anyone in the building expected, no there were no boos, just many cheers for the man who now is the longest-reigning heavyweight champ in UFC history.
