Prof Biswajit Chandra, who is in charge of the UGC's department of private universities, said the commission was not aware of the existence of any educational institution called Bangabandhu International University. The ministry also asked everyone to refrain from responding to the recruitment notification of the university. It may be mentioned that according to the Private Universities Act 2010, the President of the country appoints VCs, Pro-VCs and Treasurers in each private university for a term of four years. In addition, certificates issued under various programs of private universities without a VC will also be considered invalid.
