Several countries including the United Kingdom, United States of America and Australia recently issued travel advisory for the travel to Sri Lanka due to the prevailing Covid-19 situation. The US Embassy stated that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 2 Travel Health Notice for Sri Lanka due to COVID-19, indicating a moderate level of COVID-19 in the country. Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Embassy in Australia said that the travel advice for Sri Lanka and Maldives is now at Level 4. This is our highest advice level (level 4 of 4).”“Lockdowns are being imposed in areas affected by COVID-19, and travel restrictions may also be imposed at short notice. You should follow the advice of local authorities,” the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office said.
