A British cyber security expert who was hailed a “hero” for unravelling the NHS hacking scam has thanked his supporters in his first public comments since he was arrested in the US. Marcus Hutchins, 23, from Ilfracombe, Devon, was arrested on August 2 at Las Vegas’s McCarran Airport on his return from the Def Con hacking convention and is accused by American authorities of creating malware software.
