The sandy shore, popular with both families and surfers, impressed across a number of factors from its facilities to swim-friendly waters in new research. As a result, they've whittled it down to the top 10 UK best beaches with Saltburn taking the top spot, followed by Cornwall's Fistral Beach and Norfolk's Hemsby Beach in second and third place respectively. (Image: Getty Images)It's not the first time that Saltburn has been a hit - it's previously been named one of the best Blue Flag beaches in north east England. The water is swim-friendly and there are lifeguards during peak seasons, while on windier days it tends to be a hit with surfers.
