UN peacekeepers clash with Haitian residents in the hurricane-damaged city of Les Cayes on Saturday. About 100 frustrated residents began hurling rocks when trucks carrying food aid arrived. Haitian police officers and UN peacekeepers scattered the group with teargas. The UN secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, visited Les Cayes shortly after the disturbance and described the devastation as ‘heartbreaking’.
