UNHCR registers 10,000 Cameroonian refugees in C’ River


Mudiaga AffeThe United Nations High Commission for Refugees on Saturday says it has registered over 10,000 refugees from Cameroon in various communities in Cross River State. He said the figure was exclusive of Nigerians who are returning home as a result of the crisis in Cameroon. Boubacar said, “We have so far registered 10,400 Cameroonian refugees in Cross River and the registration is continuing. But as of Friday, 10, 400 were registered.”He said the UNHCR was providing additional support for the NCFRMI in Calabar because of the influx of Cameroonian refugees in the state. As partners of NCFRMI in the protection of refugees, we are providing this support because as you know, the refugees are scattered across vast areas in Cross River State.
