UP survives UE at UAAP 81 women’s volleyballBy The Manila TimesTHE University of the Philippines Lady Maroons survived a gritty University of the East Lady Warriors in five sets, 25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 24-26, 15-11, in the women’s volleyball tournament of UAAP Season 81 on Wednesday. Tots Carlos gave ample support with 16 points on 13 attacks, 24 digs and 24 excellent receptions. The Lady Warriors dropped to 2-8 and lost another five-setter for the fourth time. Menrez had 23 points with 20 coming off attacks while Judith Abil got 22 markers, 29 digs and 19 excellent receptions for UE. Baliton had 10 points, setter Lai Bendong tallied 39 excellent sets while graduating libero Kath Arado posted 35 digs and 31 excellent receptions.
