CNN —The US Postal Service on Friday proposed increased prices “to offset the rise in inflation,” according to a statement from the agency. Postal Service, include a three-cent increase to purchase a stamp and a four-cent increase to mail a postcard. The announcement from the US Postal Service comes as consumers around the nation continue to grapple with rising prices for groceries, gas and other necessities. “As operating expenses continue to rise, these price adjustments provide the Postal Service with much needed revenue to achieve the financial stability sought by its Delivering for America 10-year plan,” US Postal Service said on Friday. If approved by the Postal Regulatory Commission the changes would take effect January 22, 2023, after midnight.
