During a press conference on Friday night, John Kerry, the US secretary of state, and his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov announced a tentative ceasefire deal for Syria, intended to put the peace process back on track. The nationwide ceasefire, effective from sundown on Monday, aims at improving aid access and joint targeting Islamic State and other extremist groups
