US-based KBR has won a contract with Zallaf Oil & Gas Exploration, Production and Refining Company to manage the southern refinery project in Ubari, southwest Libya. The contract includes project management and technical support services during the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) phases, with implementation expected to span 50 months. The project is part of efforts to develop Libya’s oil infrastructure, leveraging KBR’s global experience in more than 160 refining projects, as well as its previous involvement in major Libyan projects, including the Man-Made River. KBR affirmed its commitment to executing the project in line with the highest safety and quality standards, while focusing on developing local engineering capacities and ensuring efficient and reliable delivery.
