US lawyer seeks Home Ministry's explanation over denied access to Anwar

PUTRAJAYA: A United State-based lawyer is seeking an explanation from the Home Ministry as to why she was denied access to her client, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the Sungai Buloh prison today. Kimberley Motley said she was appointed by Anwar last Wednesday and had planned to meet her client this morning. The two lawyers then drove from Sungai Buloh to the Home Ministry here to demand an explanation but was denied entry again. "I have travelled thousands of miles just to see my client and being denied access is another travesty of justice," she told reporters. Anwar is currently serving a five-year sentence at the Sungai Buloh Prison for sodomising his former aide, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, in 2008.
